My countless trip to the beautiful island of Langkawi. We used to stay and work in Langkawi back in 1998-2000. Great place to stay and definitely a great place for holiday. I was there recently for LIMA13, the event that I never missed since its first edition.
Straight to the point... if you love kampung style of meals with ulam ulam, ikan bakar, sambal belacan, well, this entry must not to be missed. Good eats were everywhere in Langkawi and definitely, all stalls and restaurants offered priceless dining experience.
On the arrival day, we had our lunch at a place called Harum Aroma Cafe. This one is just opposite the Underwater World. Superlicious and variety of dishes to choose from... the place close on Friday.

The next morning, spots for breakfast were everywhere. We tried that one stall opposite Amara Hotel, Jalan Penarak. Below is what I ate..
Our lunch for the day at Jom! Ikan Bakar, Padang Mat Sirat. Another good eats! Look at the food man.. According to the makcik, they start to serve lunch at 10.00am and it goes almost empty around 1.00pm..
Now let me bring you to see where we had our dinner.. the well known Restoren Hj. Ramli. Pantai Chenang, the place is next to Laman Padi and opposite the seafood restaurant Orkid Ria. The food was OK, not so great but the place was packed.
The third day of our visit, we had our breakfast just in front of our chalet. Another popular spot among the locals, still at Jalan Penarak. This one is towards the end of Jalan Penarak, if you are coming from Kuah, just drive straight towards Pantai Beringin, the place is on your right. The yellow color nasi lemak was really superlicious...
Lunch on our last day, we headed back to Padang Mat Sirat but this time to a different restaurant. The ulam was nice along with Keli Bakar.
This one is another great place and drink. The stall is next to Jom! Ikan Bakar restaurant. A friend of mine got addicted to this drink. Please find this place when you are in Padang Mat Sirat. The Coconut Shake!
And our last dinner in Langkawi before we departed back to KL.. Laksa Ikan Sekoq. This trip will be missed because of its great food, excellent event and best places... Surely will be back!
