Personally, Cambodia is very unique and classic compared to any countries that I had been to. I was so lucky to explore this part of the world. When I first reached there, I felt like I was part of the TLC program (astro channel 707). It was my first time in this country which became a protectorate of France in the 19th century, being ruled as part of French Indochina. It was an amazing and unforgettable experience. Communication was a bit difficult as not many can speak English and USD rules. Moving around in both cities was not a problem at all as tuk-tuks are available anywhere, anytime.
Halal food? a number of good halal restaurants can be found in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap nearby the mosques in both cities. Only restricted area with halal restaurants, need to ask the locals for direction.
Children friendly? to the adventurous and nature lover type of children yes! but not to those expecting themed park and modern life adventure.
Shopping? a lot of places that we can go for shopping especially for the girls and ladies. I am not talking about shopping mall but more to pasar malam, bazaar concept of place. In Phnom Penh, it offers Central Market, Russian Market, Phnom Penh Night Market and Siem Reap of course the big Night Market.
Sighseeing an Interesting Places? Definately Angkor Wat is a must when we reach Siem Reap and not to forget the Tonle Sap Lake. Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, the Killing Fields and Mekong River Cruise in Phnom Penh.
Like many other tourism spots in the world, Cambodia has a lot to offer. An awesome place to explore!
awesome! good entry & TQ for the tips
