“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.” - Lao Tzu

This is what I always tell myself, my wife and my kids about it. Live life to the fullest, make it better day by day.

"Nature is the best medicine for serenity. Peace, calmness, stillness. It's good for the heart" -  Karen L Madewell
Between home and Dublin.

It has been 3 weeks now we are back in Malaysia. Yes, we do miss Malaysia but at the same time we will always remember Dublin, the Fair City, because moments will always be the really important thing and matter in our life. Furthermore, the best part of life is when your family become your friends and your friends become your family.

It was hard but to ease the pain, we always say good friends never say goodbye, they simply say 'see you soon'. Personally, every ending is a new beginning for everyone. We will surely see you guys again and may our paths cross in the future. This 3 years episode of our life here has been a tremendous journey, priceless experience, awesome challenges, ridiculous storyline, rare plot yet we found close to heart friendship plus extended families. Everyone and everything here is very close to our heart. Syukur to Allah SWT, the almighty for this opportunity. Guys, memory last forever, never will it die... true friends stay together and never say goodbye. Our sincere apology for everything that we have done wrong. Keep in touch! And thank you for having us! Our ukhuwwah til Jannah. Dublin, you've been good to us. It has been a great 3 years stay in Dublin. Dublin... you have been so good to us and our heart ❤️ grow fonder each second and every day. I am Azilee Abd Aziz, signing off from Dublin, Ireland We shall be back....

Nasi Kandaq Baq Hang.....

Okay, here's the deal I would like to take a more appetizing jab at nasi kandar in Ireland or UK but it was only in my dream! You know what? We traveled to all nasi kandaq stalls all over Penang, Kedah, KL, PJ, Ipoh and bla.. bla... bla for 1 and 1/2 year stock up before we flew to the UK. Some says, it is a truly appetite for destruction, but who cares.... we eat to live. - eat drink sleep.

Eat Drink Sleep

It has been a year now in the foreign land. Frankly, we still miss home very much. This transit will remain and will be a memorable experience for all of us, very challenging, very inspiring. Dublin is very unique. It was a surprise for us to be selected to come to Dublin. Personally, this place is something rare and different. People love to go to the UK but not to Ireland. We are considered as the chosen one and those selected are only meant and will always be special. We are special!. So far, we have covered the whole island of Ireland, the big cities ranging from Dublin, Belfast, Galway, Cork and Limerick. It is a true fact that exploring new place enable us to open up our mind and extend our horizon. The kids are learning and adapting very well. Everybody will continue to learn, every second and every minute, here in Ireland.  It is good to know, while traveling, we do realize that when we are the minorities, we tend to stand close together and be close to Allah SWT, and the worst, the threat may not come from the outside but from among ourselves, from the inside, within our own community, just hang in there. So, dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go, be what you want to be. Because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do. Experience your journey and enjoy life guys!

Life as good as it gets

On a positive note...

'Life is unpredictable and you never know what is coming next. Don't ever get too comfortable. Always be ready for change'

'Blessed is the person who is so busy fixing his own faults, that he does not have time to look at the faults of other people'

'The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page'

“Don’t tell me how educated you are, tell me how much you traveled.” – Mohammed

“To travel is to take a journey into yourself.”

“When you travel, remember that a foreign country is not designed to make you comfortable. It is designed to make its own people comfortable.”

Good food, good places and good companion

The start and purpose:

March 2013 was the month when all of this blogging thing started to be a bit serious. Personally, back in March I felt that it was time for me to share something with the audiance so that people can experience what I've been experiencing since I started the journey. What motivate me are my passion and appreciation towards food and God's creation. The opportunity to explore is something very priceless and precious and hopefully with some of the contributions here, it can motivate others to go, to feel, to taste and to embrace the ambiance that I've felt. It may also be a place for us to learn, exchange experience and contribute something as from time to time, we know people will always search for information, tips, advise online. My contribution may not be as big as any other bloggers but at least I can contribute something and be part of the 'information provider community'. Why must I keep it to myself if I can share it with everyone right?

The passion and appreciation:

My passion towards good food is exceptional and to get variety of good food, you have to travel. Traveling exposes you to different culture, custom, language and definately variety of different food. Good local food and places will always be my mission when I am traveling either domestic or international. Indulging yourself with the locals, be like them, eat like them, know their lifestyle, the experience is priceless. The exposure makes you learn how precious life is. Food and places are inseparable, both are essential plus it will be more meaningful when you enjoy both with your families and friends, I mean, enjoying good eats and good places with your loved ones. What more can you ask for right?

The journey and aspiration:

Most of the 2013 entries covered the places and food within Malaysia and some roaming around the South East Asia and Asia Pacific. I've been to quite a number of places and continents but it was not seriously properly captured for public sharing and furthermore, blogging was not so hype during the yesteryears. 2014 is start of a new beginning. We will, with God's Will, be station in Europe particularly in Dublin for 3 years. Hopefully we may have the chance to cover places and the local cuisine and share with everybody through this blog. I do hope that with the intention and the spirit of sharing, I may contribute more to everyone.

The new chapter begins:

I look at it as a progress in life and my journey, I named it 'As I was passing by: From Kulim to Dublin' Insyaallah and I dedicated this blog to Arwah Bapak, who also love food and traveling very much and also to Mak. They are my everything, top chart!. Why Kulim? I was raised in Kulim, got my first education in Kulim, my father, my hero, my mentor, my guidance was laid to rest in Kulim, in easy conclusion Kulim is me and me is Kulim, I am more synonym to Kulim and Dublin is my future destination and I am not alone exploring, surely my good companions will always be with me, my wife and kids! Good food, good places and good companion, the moment is priceless. What more can you ask for??

Bali is another favorite destination due to its scenery, food, culture and people. My kids truly love their trip to Bali last November. It will always remain one of the best. Here are some of the pictures to share with all. The area covers Legian, Kuta and Jimbaran.

Food & Coffee Quest: Butter + Beans and The Crave

Butter + Beans, Happy Mansion, Sec. 17, PJ is a small cafe and during peak hours it will be jammed pack with people. You may find coffee and some breads + cakes and a number of desserts. My first visit was not so relaxing as they were too many people and it was just a quick visit for a take-away cup of latte.

The Crave is in Oasis Ara Damansara. Spacious space, good food and drinks. Personally, a great place for meetings and to hang-out with friends and families.  We were there twice, one time for breakfast and the next with the kids for brunch.
