Karipap Gergasi Kuala Selangor

Check out this cool stuff. On your way to Kuala Selangor, before you reach the T junction, look to your left. The stall is right in front of Taman Belibis, Bukit Rotan. You will see cars parking at the side of the road and customers are lining up waiting for their turn to enjoy the giant karipap. You can select either chicken or meat karipap. Price per piece is RM 2.50. The stall has been featured in JJCM and very famous among the locals & outsiders.

Sekinchan & Sekin Resort and Hotel: The 2nd & The Departure

Morning in Sekinchan

Early morning around the hotel

Sekinchan is a fishermen town. The resort is different from any other resorts because it is located in the middle of fishermen village surrounded with seafood restaurants, jetty and everything related to seafood and the sea and it smells fish everywhere.

Activities continued on the 2nd day with telematch and in the evening we experienced catching the catfish using hand (I may upload the pics in the next entry). Later at night we had BBQ dinner. Next in line was the karaoke session, all boys....

On the departure day, in the morning, we rented 3 fishing rods and tested our luck at the nearby pond. We managed to catch 11 fish and asked the restaurant to cook for our lunch with fried mix vege and shrimps and fried. We had our lunch before we departed home.

Patin asam pedas
Fried patin
Fried talapia
Patin masak lemak
We really enjoyed seafood during our stay in Sekinchan...

Sekinchan & Sekin Hotel and Resort: The Arrival

The day 5/4/2013. It took 1.5 hour to reach Sekinchan town from our home. It was our first time to Sekin Hotel & Resort. We reached the resort 10 minutes before 2. What best about this area is you can experience 4 different types of atmospheres; the padi field, swamp, the coconut trees and sea. The resort is just 6-month old and we were a bit impressed of this new resort, its surrounding, the building, landscape and the rooms. The resort also offers fishing activity and other activities such as catching fish with hands, trip to fireflies, visit to local industries, telematch, all can be arranged. For this specific trip, everything had been arranged inclusive of food, trips and some activities.

On the arrival day, the lunch was superb and lots of variety. We did not expect to have so much food for lunch. We just expected the normal buffet but what to do? The foods were already served and ready to be indulged. What a moment. Another thing to share here that the owner of this resort is the same owner of Sekinchan Ikan Bakar.

April's Food!: Nasi Lemak Kak Eton, Taman Ehsan

The highlight in NST (topleft)
The stall

The one I ordered

It is not so hard to get to Taman Ehsan as Tmn Ehsan is very synonym to Kepong and vise versa. The stall is located at the Taman Ehsan Market in Kepong. The only one market in Taman Ehsan. This dish is famous among the local people of Tmn Ehsan and its surrounding. Some even grew up with this nasik lemak. All time favourite food not just for the people of Taman Ehsan but also for all Malaysian. Personally, one of the best in KL, good nasi lemak depends on the rice & its sambal. The rice smells and tastes good and not to forget the lauk pauk are very tasty too. Must try! Must try! Must try!
